What are the Government Plans for Inheritance Tax on Pensions?
The majority of UK registered pension schemes are discretionary and therefore fall outside of the estate for inheritance tax purposes. However, in the Autumn Budget 2024, the Government announced changes to unused pension funds and death benefits.
